After researching it for a few weeks, I finally decided to take the plunge this morning and buy UltimateDemon. For those of you not familiar with UltimateDemon it is a piece of SEO software which was released a few months ago by Edwinsoft. While I’ve never used any of Edwinsoft’s other products like book marking demon, they have consistently received praise for keeping their software up to date and adding new functionality. A huge part of my willingness to spend nearly $400 on a piece of software was my belief that the company will keep this software useful and relevant for several years. While the sticker shock of $397 for the “lifetime” license of UltimateDemon made me a bit hesitant, when I did the numbers it worked out to a little over $16 a month for years. That is a far better deal than the nearly $50 a month for the monthly license.
I put the “lifetime” in quotes beacuse while license has no end date, you only get major updates for a two year period. Once that two year period is up then you can add on an extra two years for $147. I’m VERY pleased with that price point as that brings the cost down to about $11 a month for four years. When you look at everything UltimateDemon can do it’s an absolute steal.
The functionality of UltimateDemon is probably closest to SENUKEX which is far, FAR more expensive. I’ve never used SENUKEX because I keep my SEO activities almost exclusively white hat. It may seem weird to claim white hat tactics when doing a review of a piece of automated SEO software but hear me out.
I never use spam comments or junk link to build my sites, but like even the whitest of the white hats I submit my site to internet directories, for press releases, an occasional web 2.0 site or article directories, rss directories etc. Some of these tasks (like web 2.0 sites) are very quick and easy to do, some (like directories and RSS directories) are just downright painful so like most others I’ve used a “subcontractor” from a site like fiverr. UltimateDemon does all of these things and it does them well. I set up a site for submission to about 400 directories today. All of the directories have a PR of at least one. If this sounds crazy and you’re waiting for my next post talking about that site getting de-indexed by the big G it’s not going to happen beacuse I set the task to spread evenly over the next 200 days!! So each day for the next two hundred days at two random times between 9AM and 9PM that site will get a bookmark. Since I’m not a big blackhat guy I’m not a huge fan of spintax but in this case I thought it wise to toss in a few variations. This is the kind of slow and steady building that a lot of SEO tools aren’t built for.
I’m sure I’ll end up writing quite a few more articles about UltimateDemon but for now here are a few of my early thoughts.
You can use the license on two computers. If you use a virtual assistant or want to have a copy running on a virtual server this is huge.
LOVE the ease of use and how conservative you can tweak the settings
completely automates the email confirmation process
I wish it had more RSS directories (16) and Press Release Sites (23)
Doesn’t create email accounts for you. This isn’t too big of a deal as you can get ~100 for $5 at fiverr.
In addition to the companies strong reputation, one of the reasons I felt comfortable buying UltimateDemon was the 30 100% day money back guarantee. While I still have 29 days left, I think this one is a keeper.
